Crowborough Grand Prix, 12th September 2009

The new season got underway on a misty morning in Crowborough. Fifty children and assorted supporters converged from all corners of the county - Pevensey and Bognor being just two of the journeys undertaken!

It was great to welcome back so many of our regular players, and especially good to see several of our ex-U11s making the leap into the U18s. Several children were playing in their first tournament and we met 5 year old Jonny whose feet didn't reach the ground but who didn't stop smiling. Finally, we were pleased to welcome some strong players from neighbouring counties.

Thanks to our regular top tournament team - Iain Rose and Phil James (pairings), Brian Stockham and Dave Graham (arbiting) - also to Mandy North & Tara Barden for the smooth running of the catering. Finally thanks to Beacon Community College for the spacious venue.
