Eastbourne Grand Prix - 7th March 2009, Bishop Bell School

Thanks to Bishop Bell School for the venue; and to our regular top tournament team - Iain Rose and Phil James (pairings), Brian Stockham and Dave Graham (arbiting).

Thanks to the catering team - Mandy North and Juliet Tomlin - who found themselves catering not just for SJC but for the OU event running simultaneously! Special thanks to Tara Barden who stepped in at very short notice to man the microwave!

The tournament attracted an excellent entry of fifty-two children aged between 8 and 15. Many were regular SJC campaigners, some hoping to impress the SJC team selectors, others aiming to boost their positions in the Grand Prix. It was also great to welcome a number of new faces to their first tournament.
