U11 EPSCA Championships

Final: 10th May 2008, Liverpool

A strong Sussex team travelled to Liverpool on 10th May for the Final of the EPSCA U11 Team Championships. With 5 England players in our team expectations were high for a good result.

Round 1, and we scored 10 points out of 20. This was below our target of 13-14 points per round. We were going to need two good rounds to catch up.

Round 2 was much better as we played well to score 13.5 points. We needed an excellent last round and we would be in with a medal position.

Round 3 and 12.5 points, to give us 5th position in a very close race for the medals. Well done to all the players, just a few more wins and we would have made it into a top 3 place.

Excellent individual performances by Ram Mohan, Amy Hoare, Daniel Sutton and Sol Knipe all on 3 out of 3. Charles Dabbs also played well to score 2.5.

Zonal: 15th March 2008

The U11 team finished 3rd in the South East Zonal, coming slightly behind Barnet and Kent and safely qualifying for the final.
