EPSCA U9 Competition

Final - 1st April 2006

The Sussex Under 9 team came 6th in the EPSCA final, behind Wey Valley who won on an impressive 32 out of 36! Congratulations to Wey Valley, but beware our young team next year, particularly as we were missing our two top boards! Charlie Keen scored 3 out of 3, as did Tom Owens in the reserves. Also notable was Otto Pyper who at only 6 scored 2 out of 3.

Zonal - 11th March 2006

The U9 team came 3rd in the in the South East Zonal for the EPSCA U9 Team competition, Richmond took 1st place, with Wey Valley taking 2nd place, only one point ahead of Sussex, who finished on 27 points. Sussex points seemed to follow our usual pattern of a good first round on 9 points out of 12, followed by a slightly disappointing 7.5 in round 2, but an improved 10.5 in the final round. Particular congratulations to Shyam Mohan who took 3 points out of 3, despite being on board 1, as well as to Felix Haxby (board 4), Cosima Keen (board 6), George Bacon (board 10) and Toby Harris (reserves) who also all took 3 points.
