Sussex Championships

Sussex U11 Championship: 20th November 2005

The U11 Championship was won by Qu Ziyan on a full 6 points following his defeat of Jude Lenier who took 2nd place. Joe Quinn pipped Chris Yates into second place on progressives, with both scoring 4.5 from 6.

Sussex U9 Championship: 19th November 2005

The Sussex U9 tournament turned out to be a family affair, with both Ramm and Shyam Mohan on 5 out of 5 in the last round with a playoff for the title. The two drew the match, making them inseparable on progressives, and hence they shared the title. Amy Hoare took third place.

Sussex Girls Championship: 13th November 2005

In the Sussex U18 Girls Championship, Anna Hargreave took the title with 5 points, a clear 2 points ahead of her nearest rival. U18 Girls 2005

In the U11 championship, Amy Hoare took the title ahead of Iona Rose and Lucinda Jones.

Sussex U8 Championship: 1st October 2005

17 players turned up at Lindfield Primary school for the Sussex Under 8 Championship. In a very high quality contest, Charlie Keen took the title with a maximum 5 points, Robert Fitzgerald came 2nd with 4 points. Hannah Watkinson came 3rd on 3.5 just ahead of Sol Knipe on progressives.

In the Schools competition, Great Walstead took 1st place, Brighton Montessori came 2nd and Summerhill finished 3rd.
