Under 8’s

Brother and sister Charlie and Cosima Keen qualified for the London Under 8 finals by finishing first and second respectively in a small under 8 section. Amy Sivkumar beat Joshua Ralph in a play-off for the 3rd place trophy.

Under 10’s

The Mohans’ maintained their fine early season form by finishing in the top places in the Under 10’s. Shyam only dropped half a point to take first place, whilst Ram shook off a slow start to finish on 5 out of 6. Steven Jackson of Brighton finished 3rd, qualifying for the Major final with 4.5 points.

Under 12’s

Joseph Quinn shook off a blunder in the first round to power through the field into first place, he escaped with a draw after losing his queen, but then played very composed chess to emerge as winner. Surrey’s Caroline Foster finished second with 5 points to qualify for the Major Final. Charlie Mills finished 3rd on 4 points to qualify for the Minor, just pipping Jude Lenier on progressives.

Under 18’s

James Foster maintained his fine form from Crowborough to win all his games here. He won a cash prize and the Goodwood Cup. Kent’s Elliot Auckland finished second on 5 points. Crawley’s Alex Galliano finished 3rd on 4.5.
