Liverpool Rapidplay: 22nd January 2005

A group of Sussex U11 players made the journey to Liverpool to complete in this event, which is the third qualifer this year for the England Team trials. Players needed 3.5 .from 6 games to earn a half norm (half qualification) for the trials, and all of those in contention had already gained a half norm from previous qualifiers. At the end of the day, Alex Galliano and Joe Quinn both scored 4.5, as did Andrew Turner. Oskar Shortz scored 3.5.

As a result all four earned their place at the trials. This means that with 3 qualifers still to go, Sussex have already equalled last year's unprecedented 5 players qualfying for the trials. Sussex will currently be represented by Rhys Cumming, Ben Blundell, Joe Quinn, Alex Galliano and Oskar Schortz at the event in April.
