Halifax Rapidplay: 6th November 2004

4 Sussex players Tristan and Ben Blundell, Joseph Quinn, George Salimbeni as well as [honorary Sussex player] Andrew Turner all took part in the Halifax rapid play competition.

There was a 1 day Under 11 England qualifier competition on the Saturday where 3.5 points out of 6 were needed for a half norm. Ben and Joseph scored 3 points and Andrew 2.5

For the over 11 age group there was a 2 day minor tournament, also an England qualifier with 6.5 points needed out of 11 rounds for a half norm. George scored 7.5 points and Tristan, leaving it to the last round, secured a draw to get his 6.5 points. Well done to both boys.

Tristan got a half norm in the summer at Millfield and so with his half norm from this weekend gains a full norm and automatic entry into the under 13 England Team. Well done Tristan.
