Eastbourne Grand Prix: 19th February 2005

Over 60 children showed up at Bishop Bell School for the Eastbourne Open including quite a few new and local people.

In the Under 18 Major, Redhill’s Roshal Patel won his first Sussex tournament only dropping half a point and took the cash prize. Adam Squibbs performed very well to take second place on 5 points, with Neil Carter in third on 4.5. In the Minor, Abeed Mohammed also won the tournament with 5.5, East Grinstead’s Andrew Barnard came second with 5. James Draper finished third with 4 points.

In the Under 11 major Matthew Payne narrowly pipped Barnaby Paul on progressives despite losing to Barnaby in the tournament itself. Ben Rudling won third place on 4 points just beating Patrick Reeves-Dienes on progressives. In the Under 11 Minor, Ramm Mohan followed his brother, Shyam into the major section by winning this competition with maximum points. Jonathan Burch and Benji Pearson took the places with 5 points.
