Junior Squad Championships, Nottingham (16-18 April 2004)8 Sussex juniors took part in the Junior Squad Championships in Nottingham. The U12 tournament took place over 7 rounds in 3 days. After the first day, a number of the Sussex players were on 2 points out of 2. After day two, two Sussex players, Farris Ziyada and Rhys Cumming were only a point behind the leaders 3.5 out of 5, both having only lost to the top seed in the championship, Callum Kilpatrick. Rhys's final match of the day against George Cloake kept the organisers back long after the other players had finished. On the final day, Farris won one of his two matches to finish on a creditable 4.5 from 7. Christopher Linnet finished on 4 and Rhys on 3.5. Scores from David Grant and Tristan Blundell once I know them. In the U16 tournament, Joe Richardson was on 3 out of 4 after day two. After the final day, Adam Prescott finished on 3 from 6.
