Chichester Open - 28th September 2002

Many thanks to Scott Fraser for his report.

The under-12’s NYCA tournament at Stoke took quite a few players out of the Chichester tournament but we still managed a respectable attendance of close to 70, with players coming from Hampshire, Kent and Oxfordshire. This is the first qualifying round for the prestigious London tournament in December. 4.5 points were required to qualify for the Major in the under-8’s, under-10’s and under-12’s, 3.5 for the Minor.

Under 8

Andrew Turner followed up winning last years under-7’s Championship by winning all his games here. Kent’s Robert Lobo finished second with 5 out of  6. These were the only two qualifiers as the other players took games off each other. Christopher Khoo, Kipp McAdam-Freud, William Maskell and Cyrus Tehrani shared 3rd place with 3 points.
