U12:

Theo Penty won the fiercely contested under 12 group, having appeared to have lost his last game against Michael Hamilton, but an unforced blunder by Michael from a winning position allowed Theo to hang on to a clear lead. Good performances from the visiting Wiltshire contingent pushed many of the local players into lower than expected positions.

U8:

In a very small under 8 section Christopher Linnett pulled through, despite losing the first round to Rosie Arscott, a very promising girl player from Ditchling.

The only negative point of the day was the disappointing number of entries.
