Huser - Harris

1.c4+

Best is D) 1...f5 This leaves White helpless against the threats on f3 (and then g2) and Black has a winning position.

Next best is B) [1...Rg6 This was my suggestion to Toby after the game but it does not lead to an advantage (will Toby ever listen to me again ?). The idea is the same as f5, if White tries Rd5 then f3 can be taken but ... 2.Rxd5 Bxf3 Qf3 loses to Qg6+ (nasty) 3.Rd4 Qe5 4.g3 and it is very unclear.

3rd best is A); 1...g6 This was Toby's move. Unfortunately after 2.Rxd5 White keeps an advantage, e.g. 2...Bxf3 3.Rxg5 Qxg5 4.Qf1

Next up is E) ; 1...Qf5 This move is bad and it breaks two general chess rules: keep pieces on when you are behind, and, keep pieces on when your are attacking. White simply wins another pawn after 2.Qxf5+ Rxf5 3.Rxd5

Worst of all was C) ; 1...Rf5 which is met by 2.g4 winning the Rook.
